Terms of use
Thank you for using OpenDemocratie. These are the ground rules, in plain language.
Draft text: have these terms checked by a lawyer before the public launch.
What OpenDemocratie is
- An independent platform that explains what parliaments and governments decide and spend, and where you can give your own opinion.
- We are not a government body or a political party. Your vote here is not an official vote and does not change any law.
The information
- We take data from official, public sources and do our best to show it correctly. Mistakes can still occur, including in the sources themselves.
- The plain-language summaries are written by an AI. They may be incomplete or wrong. The official text is always the correct one.
- You may share our texts and figures, crediting the source "OpenDemocratie".
Voting and taking part
- One person, one account. You verify your identity with your eID.
- Do not try to manipulate the results, for example with multiple accounts or automated programs.
- Anyone who does so may lose their account. We delete such votes.
What we do not do
- We never sell your personal data and never show how you voted.
- We do not give voting advice and do not support any party.
Liability
- You use the site at your own risk. We are not liable for decisions you make based on the information here, or if the site is temporarily unavailable.
Changes
- We may change these terms. We announce important changes on the site. If anything changes in what we do with your votes, we will ask for your consent again first.
- Belgian law applies to these terms.
